Method
Preparing the Fries
- 1
Cook the Fries
Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, usually around 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- 2
Fry Option
If using a deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil in the fryer to 180°C (350°F). Carefully lower the fries into the hot oil in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 3-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assembling the Capastrami Fries
- 3
Layer the Toppings
Once the fries are cooked, remove them from the oven or fryer and place them on a large serving platter or baking dish. Evenly distribute the sliced hot pastrami over the fries, followed by the shredded Swiss cheese.
- 4
Melt the Cheese
If desired, place the platter in the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 5
Add Coleslaw and Dressing
Top the cheesy pastrami fries with the coleslaw mix, and then drizzle the Russian dressing generously over the top.
