Method
Preparing the Beef Roast
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- 2
Season the Beef
In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the mixture all over the American Wagyu beef roast.
- 3
Sear the Roast
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the roast on all sides until browned (about 3-4 minutes per side).
- 4
Roast the Beef
Transfer the seared roast to a roasting pan and place it in the preheated oven. Roast for about 3-4 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium rare.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Rest the Roast
Once the roast is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
- 6
Prepare the Vegetables
While the roast is resting, wash and slice the tomato, onion, and prepare the lettuce.
- 7
Slice the Roast
Once the roast has rested, use a sharp knife to slice it thinly against the grain.
- 8
Build the Sandwich
On each sandwich roll, spread mayonnaise, layer the sliced roast beef, add provolone cheese, followed by lettuce, tomato, and onion.
- 9
Serve
Serve the sandwiches immediately while warm.
