Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Vegetables

Thinly slice the onion and mushrooms. If using whole peppers, remove the seeds and slice them into strips.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beef

Slice the American Wagyu beef into thin strips against the grain to ensure tenderness.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for about 3 minutes until they start to soften.

  2. 4

    Add Mushrooms and Peppers

Add the sliced mushrooms and hot or sweet peppers to the skillet with the onions. Cook for another 5–7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the peppers are cooked through.

  3. 5

    Cook the Beef

Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the sliced American Wagyu beef. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Once the beef is cooked, lay the slices of white American cheese over the beef and cover the skillet with a lid for 2–3 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Hoagie Rolls

While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls open, without cutting all the way through, and toast them lightly if desired.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Cheesesteaks

Using a spatula, scoop the beef and melted cheese mixture onto each hoagie roll. Add extra sautéed vegetables on top if desired.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your American Wagyu cheesesteak!
