Baked Potato Toppings

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Bake the Potato

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Scrub the potato under running water and pat dry. Pierce the potato several times with a fork. Place it directly on the oven rack and bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces through the flesh.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Toppings

While the potato is baking, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels. Chop the cooked bacon into small pieces. Slice the green onions thinly.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Baked Potato

Once the potato is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut a slit down the center of the potato and gently squeeze the ends to open it up. Add butter, sour cream, chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and green onions on top.
