Pork Spare Ribs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the pork spare ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it hasn't been removed already.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this seasoning mix all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil, creating a sealed packet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

  2. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

After the ribs are done baking, remove them from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs on both sides.

  3. 5

    Broil for Finish

Return the ribs to the oven, this time uncovered, and broil on high for 5-7 minutes, or until the BBQ sauce is bubbly and caramelized. Watch closely to prevent burning.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Cut the ribs into individual pieces and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
