Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour until mixture forms a ball. Allow to cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  4. 4

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Roll warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.

  6. 6

    Serve with Sauces

Serve churros warm with caramel sauce and a scoop of Dulce de Leche ice cream on the side.
