Cocktail Ingredients

Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press down on the mint leaves to release their oils. Be careful not to tear them too much; just enough to mix with the sugar.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the glass. You can also drop one half into the glass for added flavor. Stir the mixture gently to combine the mint, sugar, and lime juice.

  3. 3

    Pour in the Rum

Add the white rum to the glass. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients together.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top. This will chill the drink and keep it refreshing.

  5. 5

    Top with Soda Water

Pour the soda water over the ice until the glass is full. This will give the cocktail its signature fizz.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with a few extra mint leaves and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw or cocktail stirrer for mixing.
