Method

Making the Lemonade

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Roll the lemons on a clean surface to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or by hand. Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp, and set aside.

  2. 2

    Dissolving the Sugar

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

  3. 3

    Combining Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to mix.

  4. 4

    Adding Color

Add pink food coloring a few drops at a time to the lemonade mixture, stirring until you achieve your desired shade of pink. Remember, a little goes a long way!

  5. 5

    Chill the Lemonade

Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to chill before serving.

Serving the Lemonade

  1. 6

    Garnishing

Before serving, pour the pink lemonade into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.

  2. 7

    Enjoy!

Serve the pink lemonade chilled, and enjoy the refreshing taste on a hot day!
