Making the Lemonade

Juicing the Lemons
Roll the lemons on a clean surface to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or by hand. Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp, and set aside.

Dissolving the Sugar
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

Combining Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to mix.
- 4
Adding Color
Add pink food coloring a few drops at a time to the lemonade mixture, stirring until you achieve your desired shade of pink. Remember, a little goes a long way!
