Preparing the Pork Chops

Season the Pork Chops
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Sear the Pork Chops
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned pork chops. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Add Rosemary
In the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the skillet and let it infuse the pork chops with flavor.

Rest the Chops
Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes before serving.
Making the Cornbread

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking dish.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
