Method

Main Ingredients Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Rub each chicken breast with olive oil, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

  2. 2

    Bake the Chicken

Place the seasoned chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Cornbread Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  2. 4

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.

  3. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 6

    Bake the Cornbread

Pour the batter into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Choice of Side Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Green Beans

Trim the ends of the green beans and steam them for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.

  2. 8

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop potatoes, then boil them in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk to taste.

  3. 9

    Prepare the Coleslaw

In a bowl, mix shredded cabbage and carrots with mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper to taste.
