Burger Ingredients

Method

Pomegranate BBQ Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine pomegranate juice, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and let cook for about 15 minutes until thickened. Set aside.

Lamb Burger Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Lamb Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. Form into 4 equal patties.

  2. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the lamb patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of old cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the sesame brioche buns lightly. Place each lamb patty on the bottom half of the bun, top with pomegranate BBQ sauce, and cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
