Calamari Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Calamari

Rinse the calamari fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut the fillets into rings or leave them whole, as desired.

  2. 2

    Coat the Calamari

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and black pepper. In another dish, place the breadcrumbs. Dredge each calamari piece first in the flour mixture, then in the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are well coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Ensure the oil is hot but not smoking.

  4. 4

    Fry the Calamari

Carefully add the coated calamari pieces to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.

  5. 5

    Make Garlic Lemon Butter

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the lemon juice and remove from heat.

  6. 6

    Serve

Drizzle the garlic lemon butter over the fried calamari and serve immediately with calamari sauce on the side.
