Method

Fried Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In a separate bowl, mix flour, cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3

    Coat the Chicken

Remove chicken from buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing firmly to adhere.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-18 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Waffles

  1. 5

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  2. 6

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, combine milk, eggs, and melted butter. Mix well.

  3. 7

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  4. 8

    Cook Waffles

Preheat a waffle iron and pour the batter according to the manufacturer's instructions. Cook until golden brown.

Honey Butter

  1. 9

In a bowl, mix softened butter and honey until smooth and well combined.

Cinnamon Maple Syrup

  1. 10

In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup and cinnamon over low heat. Stir until heated through.
