Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

  2. 2

    Whip the Potatoes

Add butter and milk to the drained potatoes. Mash and whip until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Keep warm.

  3. 3

    Cook the Asparagus

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add asparagus and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.

  4. 4

    Prepare the NY Strip Steak

Season the NY Strip steak generously with sea salt and black pepper. Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat.

  5. 5

    Cook the Steak

Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add herb butter to the skillet and baste the steak.

  6. 6

    Plate the Dish

Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with whipped potatoes and sautéed asparagus on the side.
