Burger Patty

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until the ingredients are evenly distributed. Be careful not to overmix to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions, shaping each into a half-pound patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Ensure it's hot enough to create a good sear on the patties.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over. Top each patty with a slice of pepper jack cheese and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, slice the cornmeal Kaiser buns in half. Optionally, toast the insides on the grill for added flavor and texture.

  2. 6

    Add the Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, spread a generous amount of chipotle mayo. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by jalapeño slices and jalapeño poppers. Top with the other half of the bun.
