Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

Rub the dry rub mixture generously over both sides of the ribs, ensuring even coverage. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  2. 5

    Prepare the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Glaze the Ribs

After the ribs are cooked, remove them from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  4. 7

    Broil the Ribs

Switch your oven to broil. Broil the ribs for about 5-7 minutes, keeping a close watch to prevent burning, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with any remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
