Method
Cooking the Meats
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Season the brisket with smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Place it in a slow cooker and cover with barbecue sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours or until tender.
- 2
Cook the Pork Shoulder
Rub the pork shoulder with salt and pepper. Place it in the slow cooker with the brisket for the last 4 hours of cooking. Ensure it also gets covered with barbecue sauce.
- 3
Brown the Ground Turkey
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground turkey until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat and mix in some barbecue sauce for flavor.
Making the Creamy Slaw
- 4
Prepare the Vegetables
Shred the green cabbage and grate the carrots. Combine in a large bowl.
- 5
Mix the Dressing
In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.
- 6
Combine Slaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss until evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Assembling the Sandwiches
- 7
Build the Sandwich
Slice the kaiser buns in half. Layer the sauced brisket, ground turkey, and pork shoulder on the bottom half of each bun.
- 8
Add Slaw and Pickles
Top each sandwich with a generous portion of creamy slaw and a handful of pickles.
- 9
Serve
Place the top half of the bun on each sandwich and serve immediately while warm.
