Brisket Preparation

1

Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the beef brisket. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

2

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to ensure even cooking for the brisket.

3

Cook the Brisket

Place the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan and pour the beef broth around it. Cover the pan tightly with foil and cook in the preheated oven for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

4

Rest the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

5

Slice the Brisket

Using a sharp knife, slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices for serving.

Sides Preparation

6

Prepare Coleslaw

In a large bowl, mix the coleslaw ingredients together (cabbage, carrots, dressing) until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

7

Heat Baked Beans

In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the baked beans until heated through, stirring occasionally. This should take about 5-10 minutes.
