Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.

Cook Pasta
Add the penne pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually 10-12 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Preparing Sauce

Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Combine Sauce Ingredients
Pour in the tomato sauce and vodka, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Add Cream
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, mixing until the sauce is smooth.

Add Cheese and Season
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Keep stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Finally, add the chopped fresh basil to the sauce and stir to combine.

Add the drained penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
