Pasta

Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguine

Once the water is boiling, add the linguine. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the linguine. Set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant and lightly golden.

  3. 6

    Add Tuna and Capers

Add the drained canned tuna and rinsed capers to the skillet. Stir gently to combine and heat through for about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Stir well to combine and let simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  5. 8

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained linguine to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.

  6. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
