Method
Preparation
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Trim the stem ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.
Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves. Set aside.
Cooking
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the smoked olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Add Brussels Sprouts
Carefully add the halved Brussels sprouts to the skillet, cut side down. Allow them to fry without stirring for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Add Garlic and Seasoning
Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the Brussels sprouts are tender.
Serve
Remove from heat and transfer the crispy Brussels sprouts to a serving platter. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve with a lemon wedge on the side.
