Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Hard Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water, ensuring they are submerged by about an inch. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Eggs

Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from heat, and let it sit for 12-14 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cool the Eggs

After the time is up, transfer the eggs to an ice bath (a bowl of ice water) to cool for about 5-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Peel the Eggs

Once cool, gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel under running water to help remove the shell easily.

Mixing the Filling

  1. 5

    Prepare the Egg Yolks

Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks, placing them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the egg yolks. Mash the mixture with a fork until smooth.

Filling the Eggs

  1. 7

    Fill the Egg Whites

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg whites.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle the tops with paprika and optionally garnish with chopped chives or parsley.

Serving

  1. 9

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the deviled eggs for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
