Method

Prepare the Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Bread

Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.

Prepare the Topping

  1. 3

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 4

    Add Basil and Garlic

Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

  3. 5

    Season the Mixture

Pour the balsamic vinegar over the tomato mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Mix gently until well combined.

Assemble the Bruschetta

  1. 6

    Top the Bread

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the tomato mixture onto each slice of bread.

  2. 7

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm and crispy. Enjoy!
