Method
Wings
- 1
Prepare the wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Season the wings
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss the wings in the seasoning mixture until they are evenly coated.
- 3
Heat the oil
In a deep frying pan, heat 2 cups of cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the wings
Carefully add the coated wings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
- 5
Toss with hot sauce (optional)
If desired, toss the fried wings in hot sauce before serving.
Fries
- 6
Prepare the potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips to create fries.
- 7
Soak the fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch and help them become crispy when cooked.
- 8
Heat the oil for frying
In a deep frying pan, heat 2 cups of cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 9
Fry the fries
Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
- 10
Season the fries
Sprinkle the hot fries with salt while they are still hot for maximum flavor.
