Method

Grilled Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Gather Ingredients

Collect all necessary ingredients: two slices of artisanal bread, 2 tablespoons of softened butter, and 1/2 cup of shredded premium cheese blend such as sharp cheddar, mozzarella, or gouda.

  2. 2

    Butter the Bread

Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. These will be the outer sides that touch the pan, ensuring a golden, crispy finish.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place one slice of bread butter-side-down onto a skillet or non-stick pan. Add an even layer of shredded cheese on top, then place the second slice butter-side-up to complete the sandwich.

  4. 4

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat the pan over medium-low heat. Grill the sandwich for 3–4 minutes, pressing gently with a spatula. Once the bottom is golden brown, flip it carefully and grill the other side for another 3–4 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is fully melted.

  5. 5

    Serve Immediately

Remove the grilled cheese from the pan and let it rest for 1 minute. Slice diagonally and serve warm.

Tomato Soup (Optional Side)

  1. 6

    Heat the Soup

Pour your favorite pre-made tomato soup into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until hot—about 5–7 minutes. Alternatively, warm in a microwave-safe bowl for 2–3 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  2. 7

    Serve with Grilled Cheese

Pour the hot tomato soup into a small bowl and serve alongside the grilled cheese for dipping.
