Waffle Fries

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sweet Potatoes

Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into waffle fry shapes. Rinse the cut sweet potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Soak the Sweet Potatoes

Soak the sweet potato fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to help achieve a crispier texture.

  3. 3

    Preheat Oven

While the fries soak, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Season the Fries

Drain and pat the sweet potato fries dry. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper until evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
