Prepare the Honey Syrup
If you don't have honey syrup, combine equal parts honey and hot water in a small bowl. Stir until the honey is fully dissolved. Allow to cool before using.

Juice the Citrus
Squeeze fresh lemons and oranges to extract the juice needed for the cocktail. Measure out 0.75 oz of lemon juice and 0.5 oz of orange juice.

Gather all liquid ingredients including white rum, honey syrup, lemon juice, orange juice, honeysuckle bitters, and basil oil.

Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of white rum, 0.5 oz of honey syrup, 0.75 oz of lemon juice, 0.5 oz of orange juice, 2 dashes of honeysuckle bitters, and 0.25 oz of basil oil.

Shake the Cocktail
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well-chilled.
Serving

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Optionally, garnish with a fresh basil leaf or a citrus twist for presentation.
