Hummus

Vegetables and Toast

Method

Prepare Hummus

  1. 1

    Cook Chickpeas (if using dried)

If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight in water. Drain and boil for 1-2 hours until tender. Skip this step if using canned chickpeas.

  2. 2

    Blend the Hummus Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and water. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Adjust Consistency

If the hummus is too thick, gradually add more water until you reach your desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Prepare Vegetables and Toast

  1. 4

    Cut Vegetables

Wash and peel the carrots, then cut them into sticks. Wash the celery stalks and cut them into similar lengths as the carrot sticks.

  2. 5

    Toast the Bread

Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Arrange the toasted bread on a serving plate. Drizzle with additional olive oil for flavor.

Serve the Plate

  1. 7

    Plate the Hummus and Vegetables

In the center of a large plate, scoop the hummus. Arrange the carrot and celery sticks around the hummus. Serve the toasted bread on the side.

  2. 8

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy as a healthy snack or appetizer!
