Soak the Almonds
In a bowl, combine 1 cup of raw almonds with 3 cups of water. Allow the almonds to soak for at least 8 hours or overnight to soften them.

After soaking, drain the almonds and rinse them thoroughly under cold running water.

In a blender, combine the soaked almonds with 4 cups of filtered water. Blend on high for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Place a nut milk bag or a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl. Pour the almond mixture through the strainer to separate the milk from the almond pulp. Squeeze or press to extract as much milk as possible.

If desired, add sweetener and vanilla extract to the strained almond milk. Blend again to combine.
