Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork butt.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Pork

Place the seasoned pork butt in a smoker set to 225°F (107°C) and smoke for about 8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cabbage Slaw

While the pork is smoking, thinly slice the purple cabbage. In a separate bowl, mix the sliced cabbage with apple cider vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Let it marinate.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork butt is done smoking, let it rest for 30 minutes before shredding it using two forks.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper, place a small amount of shredded pork and cabbage slaw in the center, and fold the wrapper according to package instructions. You can either fry or steam the wontons.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the assembled wontons with chopped green onions and serve hot.
