Combine ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 60 ml rye whiskey, 22 ml Montenegro Amaro, 22 ml sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters. Add 4 ice cubes to the mixing glass.

Stir
Stir gently for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted to taste.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass (or a rocks glass if you prefer it on the rocks).

Garnish
Express the oils from an orange twist over the drink, then rim the glass with the twist or drop it into the glass as a garnish.
