Chill glass
Chill a rocks glass by placing it in the freezer or filling with ice and setting aside.

Combine ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 60 ml Hennessy XO Cognac, 10 ml simple syrup, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, and 1 dash orange bitters.

Add ice and stir
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for about 20-25 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

Strain into glass
Discard the ice from the chilled rocks glass and strain the cocktail into the glass over fresh ice.

Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink, then drop the peel into the glass as garnish.
