Waffle Batter

Toppings & Sauces

Method

Waffle Batter

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; lumps are okay.

  4. 4

Let batter rest for 5 minutes while you preheat and lightly grease the waffle iron.

  5. 5

Preheat the waffle iron to medium-high heat and lightly grease with oil or nonstick spray.

  6. 6

Pour about 1/2 cup batter onto the hot iron and cook until the waffles are golden and crisp, 3–4 minutes per waffle. Repeat until all batter is used.

Toppings & Sauces

  1. 7

Slice bananas and arrange berries on a serving platter.

  2. 8

Warm maple syrup slightly if desired for easier pouring.

  3. 9

Serve waffles hot with a dollop of whipped cream, top with sliced bananas and berries.

  4. 10

Drizzle with maple syrup and chocolate sauce, then dust with powdered sugar. Sprinkle chopped nuts if desired.
