Prepare
Fill a shaker halfway with ice to chill.

Combine ingredients
Add gin, cherry liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.

Shake
Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.

Finish
Strain into a chilled glass and top with soda water.

Garnish and serve
Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a lime wheel. Serve immediately.
