Ahi Tuna
Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Tuna
In a shallow dish, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add the Ahi tuna steaks and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- 2
Prepare the Sesame Coating
Spread sesame seeds on a plate. After marinating, remove the tuna from the marinade and coat both sides with sesame seeds, pressing gently to adhere.
- 3
Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little sesame oil if desired. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer for desired doneness.
- 4
Garnish and Serve
Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice the tuna and sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
