Prepare the Salmon
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the salmon fillets with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Salmon
Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.

Make the Tchoupitoulas Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, and bring to a simmer.

Add Capers and Basil
Add capers and chopped basil to the sauce. Stir well and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve
Once the salmon is ready, plate the fillets and spoon the creamy tomato, basil, and capers sauce over the top. Serve warm.
