Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the salmon fillets with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Bake the Salmon

Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.

  3. 3

    Make the Tchoupitoulas Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, and bring to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Add Capers and Basil

Add capers and chopped basil to the sauce. Stir well and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and adjust seasoning if necessary.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once the salmon is ready, plate the fillets and spoon the creamy tomato, basil, and capers sauce over the top. Serve warm.
