Bread Pudding Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut or tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture over the bread pieces, gently folding to ensure all the bread is soaked. Let this sit for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.

  5. 5

    Prepare Whiskey Sauce

While the bread pudding is baking, prepare the whiskey sauce by combining 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, and 1/2 cup of whiskey in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the bread pudding is done, allow it to cool slightly before serving it hot. Drizzle the warm whiskey sauce over each serving.
