Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread Pudding

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the day-old bread into cubes and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and gently fold to combine. If using raisins or chocolate chips, fold them in at this stage.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until set and golden on top.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Bourbon Sauce

While the pudding is baking, in a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, and 1/2 cup of Heaven's Door Bourbon. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with the bourbon sauce.
