Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Place the red rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water for about 2-3 minutes until the water runs clear. This helps to remove excess starch and impurities.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cooking Pot

In a large pot, add the rinsed red rice, 4 cups of water, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.

  3. 3

    Bring to a Boil

Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Make sure to keep an eye on it to avoid overflowing.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Allow the rice to simmer for about 30-35 minutes, or until the water is fully absorbed and the rice is tender.

  5. 5

    Fluff and Serve

After cooking, remove the pot from heat but keep it covered for an additional 10 minutes to allow the rice to steam. After this resting period, remove the lid and use a fork to fluff the rice before serving.
