Cooking Pasta

Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and the elbow macaroni. Cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, about 5-7 minutes.

Incorporate Cheeses
Lower the heat and stir in the cheddar cheese and cream cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Combining and Serving

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is fully coated with the creamy sauce.

Optional Topping
If using, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the mixture over the macaroni and cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
