Prepare the Nuts
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the walnuts and almonds on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until fragrant. Remove and let cool.
- 2
Make the Crust
In a food processor, combine the toasted walnuts and almonds, brown sugar, and salt. Pulse until finely ground. Add the melted butter and pulse until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish. Bake for 15 minutes, then let it cool completely.
Banana Custard Preparation
- 3
Mix the Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and cornstarch. Over medium heat, cook the mixture, stirring constantly until it thickens.

Final Cooking
Continue to cook the custard for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sliced ripe bananas. Let it cool.
Whipped Cream Preparation
- 6
Whip the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
Kahlua Chocolate & Caramel Sauce Preparation
- 7
Melt the Chocolate
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips, stirring frequently to avoid burning. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in caramel sauce and Kahlua until smooth.
Caramelized Banana Preparation
- 8
Caramelize the Bananas
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add sliced ripe bananas and brown sugar. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, turning gently until the bananas are golden and caramelized.
Assembly

Assemble the Pie
Pour the banana custard into the cooled crust. Top with whipped cream, then drizzle the Kahlua chocolate and caramel sauce over it. Finally, add the caramelized bananas on top. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
