Chill the Glass
Place a cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in 2 oz of Amaro Nonino, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.

Stir the Mixture
Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and diluted.

Strain into Glass
Remove the cocktail glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Strain the contents of the mixing glass into the chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist. Place the orange peel strip and star anise on top as garnish.
