Cooking Directions

1

Prepare the Base

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

2

Add the Tomatoes and Broth

Stir in the canned diced tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.

3

Season the Gumbo

Add the Cajun seasoning, bay leaves, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.

4

Add the Okra and Seafood

Add the sliced okra, crab meat, shrimp, and oysters to the pot. Stir gently to combine.

5

Simmer the Gumbo

Let the gumbo simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the seafood is cooked through and flavors meld.

6

Cook the Rice

While the gumbo simmers, cook the Louisiana rice according to package instructions.

7

Serve

Remove bay leaves before serving. Serve the gumbo over the cooked rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
