Ceviche Ingredients

Method

Ceviche Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Start by placing the peeled and deveined shrimp in a bowl. Pour the lime juice over the shrimp, ensuring they are fully submerged. Allow the shrimp to marinate in the lime juice for about 15-20 minutes, or until they turn opaque and firm.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the shrimp is marinating, prepare the vegetables. Dice the avocado, tomato, and jicama into small, bite-sized pieces. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the shrimp has marinated and is ready, drain some of the lime juice if it's too acidic, but keep enough to coat the other ingredients. Add the marinated shrimp to the bowl with diced avocado, tomato, and jicama.

  4. 4

    Season the Ceviche

Add chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Gently toss everything together to combine, making sure not to mash the avocado.

  5. 5

    Serve

Let the ceviche rest for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled in small bowls or on tortilla chips as an appetizer.
