Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1-inch thick.

Cook Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Prepare Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice and Dice

While the burgers are cooking, slice the jalapeños, dice the onion, and slice the tomato.

  2. 6

    Prepare Queso Fresco

Crumble the queso fresco and set it aside.

Assemble Burger

  1. 7

    Toast Buns (Optional)

If desired, you can lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Layer Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, spread a layer of guacamole, followed by the cooked patty, then top with sliced jalapeños, diced onion, sliced tomato, crumbled queso fresco, and a dollop of sour cream.

  3. 9

    Finish Assembly

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled toppings to finish the burger.
