Method
Base Preparation
- 1
Mix the Base Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. This will be your base for the ice cream.
- 2
Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to chill. This helps improve the texture of the ice cream.
Flavoring and Churning
- 3
Add Flavoring
Once the base mixture is chilled, you can divide it into separate bowls based on your desired flavors. For chocolate ice cream, mix in the chocolate syrup. For strawberry ice cream, fold in the chopped strawberries. For mint ice cream, stir in finely chopped mint leaves. For coffee ice cream, add the brewed and cooled coffee. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the flavored mixtures into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freezing and Serving
- 5
Freeze the Ice Cream
Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and smooth the top with a spatula. Cover with a lid and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- 6
Serve
Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy! You can top with additional chocolate syrup, fresh fruit, or mint leaves if desired.
