Burger Patty Preparation

Mix the Patty Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, taking care not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.
Grilling

Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a stovetop grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat.

Grill the Patties
Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Prepare the Vegetables
While the patties and toppings are grilling, slice the onion and tomato. Tear the lettuce leaves to fit the buns.

Assemble the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each burger bun. Place a grilled patty on top, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese, grilled ham, grilled pineapple, lettuce, onion, and tomato. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
