Taco Bar Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Sprinkle taco seasoning over the cooked meat. Add a splash of water (about 1/4 cup) to help distribute the seasoning. Stir well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- 3
Heat Refried Beans
In a small saucepan, heat the refried beans over low heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Prepare Toppings
While the meat and beans are cooking, prepare the toppings: chop the lettuce, dice the tomatoes, and shred the cheese.
- 5
Set Up Taco Bar
Arrange taco shells or tortillas on a serving platter. In separate bowls, arrange the cooked meat, refried beans, and toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, onions, and jalapeños.
- 6
Serve
Invite guests to build their own tacos with their choice of ingredients.
