Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Grits

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.

2

Add Grits

Once the water is boiling, slowly whisk in the stone ground grits to avoid clumps. Reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan.

3

Cook the Grits

Cook the grits for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are thick and creamy. If the grits become too thick, you can add a bit more water.

4

Sauté Garlic

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

5

Combine Ingredients

Once the grits are cooked, remove them from the heat and stir in the sautéed garlic, shredded cheddar cheese, and season with black pepper to taste.

6

Serve

Spoon the creamy garlic cheddar grits into bowls and serve immediately.
