Meatballs

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Make the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Pomodoro Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  5. 5

    Combine the Sauce Ingredients

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes.

  6. 6

    Combine Meatballs with Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, gently add them to the pomodoro sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the meatballs in pomodoro sauce hot, garnished with additional basil or Parmesan if desired.
